I can always go for a tasty salad—whether it’s summer or winter, it really doesn’t matter to me. I’m the kind of person who loves experimenting with whatever I can find in the kitchen. Spending too much time deciding? That’s just not my thing!
What I love about salads is how versatile they are—you can style and fill them in so many different ways, and I’m all for that. This time, I decided to mix it up with tuna and a homemade dressing.
I have to say, it turned out way too delicious not to share with you! It’s fresh, filling, and super quick to make.
Ingredients (Serves 3–4)
Pre-cook:
- 230 g penne pasta
- Water
- 5 g salt
Dressing:
- 125 g ketchup
- 30 g mustard
- 35 g vinegar
- 60 g mayonnaise
Tuna Mix (Tonno):
- 140 g canned tuna
- 100 g red bell pepper (diced)
- Pickles (to taste, chopped)
- Red onion (sliced or diced)
- 200 g corn (e.g., Bonduelle)
- Salt (to taste)
- Olives (optional, for garnish or mix-in)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Bring plenty of water to a boil. Once it starts bubbling, add salt to taste and optionally a splash of oil. Add the penne pasta. After a few minutes, give it a stir to prevent sticking. Cook for about 8 to 11 minutes. Drain the penne in a colander and let the water drain off completely.

Put the ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, and vinegar into a deep bowl and mix everything together until well combined.

Cut the vegetables into small, even pieces for consistent cooking.
Add the cooked penne pasta, tuna, sweetcorn, diced bell pepper, chopped pickles, sliced red onion, and olives to a large mixing bowl. Stir well to combine all ingredients into a flavorful pasta salad

Add the sauce and salt to taste. Mix everything together until well combined.

Tips
- Feel free to add vegetables of your choice
- You can substitute mayonnaise with yogurt for a lighter version
- For extra protein, consider adding shrimp (gambas)
- Finish the dish with garlic sauce and chopped spring onions for extra flavor

This easy and flavorful pasta salad is perfect for any occasion—whether it’s a quick lunch, a summer BBQ, or a family dinner. With customizable ingredients and the option to make it lighter or more indulgent, it’s a versatile dish that everyone will love. Don’t forget to top it off with garlic sauce and fresh spring onions for the ultimate finishing touch!
