Description

A bright, refreshing Italian lemon liqueur made at home with simple ingredients. Perfect as a digestif or cocktail mixer!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 organic lemons (zested)

  • 1 liter vodka (or grain alcohol)

  • 3 cups sugar

  • 4 cups water


Instructions

  • Peel lemons, avoiding the white pith. Place zest in a jar with vodka.

  • Seal and let steep in a cool, dark place for 7–10 days, shaking daily.

  • In a pot, dissolve sugar in water over low heat; cool completely.

  • Strain lemon zest from vodka, then mix infused vodka with sugar syrup.

  • Bottle and chill before serving.

Notes

Use unwaxed, organic lemons for best flavor.

Steeping longer intensifies lemon aroma.

Store limoncello in the freezer for a smooth, cold sip.
